When Cosy started collecting and reselling upcycled tyres to schools, we wanted to do things the right way—safe, sustainable, and with a bit of heart. We work with a team of early retired folks who know their way around a tyre, making sure every one is checked for wires and power-cleaned of brake dust, oil, and road grime before it ever reaches a playground.

Environmental Benefits

1. Energy Savings

By avoiding the industrial crumbing process (which is highly energy-intensive), the school has saved: 135 kWh of energy (equivalent to running a classroom’s lighting for over 6 months)

2. Carbon Storage

Tyres are composed of natural and synthetic rubbers, carbon black, and other materials that contain significant amounts of carbon. By reusing tyres, instead of breaking them down, the carbon remains stored in the material.
