Systematic Phonics Threading Beads - Phase 3 Letters & Graphemes Set

Support early phonics learning with this hands-on phase 3 grapheme set, designed to help children practise the new letters and graphemes introduced in phase 3 of the Letters and Sounds programme.

The cards are laid out with the yellow side facing up to reveal a picture clue. Children choose a card, identify the missing word, then use the laces and beads to build it before placing the completed word over the card. This practical, interactive approach helps children strengthen letter recognition, phonics understanding and early spelling skills through active play.

All words are taken from the suggested teaching bank for phase 3 Letters and Sounds, making the set a useful resource for both classroom learning and targeted phonics support. The cards are self-checking, with the answers printed on the reverse, helping children build confidence as they work more independently.

The beads are coloured orange and dark purple to reflect phases 2 and 3, and can also be used separately to create pseudo words for checking phonic recognition and decoding skills.
