Six ABS plastic tubes of different lengths rise in a circular arrangement from a central pole, each producing a different note. The player strikes the open bottom end of each tube with the flappy beater, coaxing out sounds that combine the warmth of percussion with the tuneful qualities of a melodic instrument. Children naturally begin to work out which tube is which note and find themselves creating simple tunes within minutes.
