Autumn Tray Play Activity Ideas

We get tagged in so many wonderful tray play activity ideas that we wanted to share with you some of our favourite autumn tray play activity ideas from our cosy club members.

From regular tuff trays of varying colours, to mirrored spot trays and mirrored magnetic tray and of course our heuristic wicker tray, there are so many options for setting up your autumn tray play. We always love to add autumnal natural treasures such as acorns, conkers, pine cones, leaves of varying colours, horse chestnuts, sticks and stones. Collect treasures in baskets and our mini tyre carry baskets and display them beautifully on our mirror trays - ideal also for placing under trees to view reflections in from above.

From counting activities using wooden number trays and wooden number frames to small world scenes, trays make the ideal base for exploring autumn themes.

Our mini deep tray with mirror insert looks fabulous under trees with the leaves falling. Add water and watch the fallen leaves float on the water - swirl with sticks.

We love this idea to add masking tape like a spider's web over the mini deep tray. Placing conkers or other natural treasures underneath for children to collect up with tweezers in an egg box. Super simple yet such a lovely activity for little hands.

Collect blackberries, display them in the tray, mash them, discuss what you could make with them, taste them, use the juice for painting with.
