5 Great Ways to Enhance Your Baby Room Provision
Learning is a joy at any age. While we love the excitement and creativity of preschool and reception classrooms, we also have a real soft spot for baby and toddler provision! In fact, did you know that we have a specialised range just for babies and toddlers, designed for smaller hands, tiny toes and younger explorers? In this post we’ll share our favourite ways to enhance baby provision and our top Cosy products to help.

High contrast resources
Keeping a selection of resources that have high contrast between colours is particularly helpful for the smallest learners who are still developing their vision. While we always advocate for natural resources and neutral colours for a calm environment, there is absolutely a place for high-contrast items, particularly black and white, in your baby room. We love these black and white balls which support visual development, hand-eye coordination and sensory exploration! Taking things further, our textured soft play cubes combine high contrast and interesting textures, too.
Let’s get moving
Another fantastic way to enhance your provision is by updating or adding to your physical development resources. Providing lots of incentive to pull up, crawl and walk is a great way to get young learners to explore what their bodies are capable of! We have a large variety of different items that focus on physical development for older learners - but did you know the same goes for babies? Our crawl up mirrors are a great example of this. These fab resources encourage little ones to pull up and cruise, while exploring their own facial features and self-awareness. A double win!
For early walkers and cruisers, we also love our baby cruise circle. Great for doubling as a play surface, this beautifully made circle gets little ones up and on their feet with plenty to look at on top. Our toddler sensory play arch also offers great learning opportunities, from self-awareness to crawling, cruising and sensory exploration.
Mirrors

Peepo! Mirrors are a brilliant way to add a whole new dimension to your baby room, with plenty of options for different budgets and spaces. Our exploring mirrors, windmill vista mirrors and multi-effect mirrors are great for smaller budgets or smaller spaces, providing a new way to explore without taking up additional floor space. For crawlers and explorers, we love our chunky low table, ideal for adding resources on top or simply for encouraging babies to look closely at their reflections. Finally, if you’re after something more expansive and a real show-stopper, our Magical Mirror Den adds incredibly variety to your provision and will be much loved by babies - and toddlers too if they get a chance!
Treasure baskets
A firm favourite for babies and for good reason, we all love a treasure basket! Treasure baskets are a brilliant way to encourage babies to explore their senses, as well as supporting fine motor control. Keep them simple or add lots of new resources, all depending on the needs of your cohort. If you fancy upping your game a little and adding some more magic, we have a few ideas up our sleeves. Our beautiful oval treasure tray baskets are a resource in themselves and a great way to store lots of exploratory goodies, such as our touchy feely resource collection or these lovely brushes.
Keeping cosy

While we’re all about getting up and moving, rest, calm and cosy spaces are just as important in supporting the development of babies. This is easy to do with cosy cushions, blankets and soft furnishings during play time and a safe, comfortable sleep space. If you’re looking to up the cosy factor while adding useful resources into your setting, we love our felt nesting bowls for storage. Plus, who said that cosy couldn’t be beautiful, too? Our lovely nature leaf mats add a warming texture to your baby room while adding a lovely touch of nature.
