Plain Peg People - Pack of 30

Our Plain Peg People are the perfect blank canvas for your EYFS setting! These chunky wooden figures are far more than just ordinary pegs, they are a gateway to limitless creativity and imaginative play. Unadorned and full of potential, they invite children to design, create, and explore new worlds right in the classroom or playroom. Whether learners are crafting their own community of characters, inventing stories, or even using them as maths counters, these peg people are as versatile as they come.

The real beauty of our Plain Peg People lies in their simplicity. Children have the freedom to leave them plain or get crafty, turning them into vibrant characters with a splash of paint, some fabric clothes, or even glitter and googly eyes! The creative possibilities are endless, and the open-ended nature of these figures ensures they can become anything learners dream up. One day, they could be a bustling town of shopkeepers, and the next, a family of explorers venturing through an imaginary forest.

Pair them with our wooden maths vehicles or pop them into the Ten Frame & Five Frame People Vehicles  for an engaging, hands-on way to introduce counting, sorting, and basic maths concepts. By integrating these figures into early maths learning, children can grasp abstract concepts like number representation in a concrete, playful way.

The versatility doesn’t stop at maths lessons, these peg figures make a fantastic addition to small world play settings like Martin’s Metropolis  or any other make-believe world. Children can assign roles, create narratives, and develop social and language skills as they engage in group storytelling sessions or imaginative play.

Sized just right for little hands, these figures also help develop fine motor skills as children grasp, move, and manipulate them during play. The act of decorating them further promotes hand-eye coordination and dexterity. With 30 pieces in each pack, there’s plenty to go around, encouraging teamwork, social interaction, and collaborative play.
